Beijing Flickers

Beijing Flickers has its roots and inspiration from Beijing Bastards, a film that Zhang Yuan made in 1992 when world-famous painter Liu Xiaodong, singer-songwriters Cui Jian and Dou Wei, and himself were still young and struggling to break free of the boundaries that existed. Now twenty years have passed and Beijing has transformed itself into a huge and chaotic mega-city. Through the portraits of four young people who drifted into Beijing, Zhang gives another vivid record of life in Beijing.
